The World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI) http://www.w3c.org/WAI/ identifies the overall goal of the standards are to: "create Web content that is perceivable, operable and understandable by the broadest possible range of users and compatible with their wide range of assistive technologies, now and in the future". This standard has been widely adopted.

The Chicago Workforce Investment Council website will adhere to the Priority 1 and 2 checkpoints outlined by the WAI. In addition, the Chicago Workforce Investment Council website will continue to explore ways to enhance accessibility by working towards compliance on Priority 3 checkpoints.
